Welcome to Coram Deo Ministry!

Picture
Coram Deo Ministry was started in 2004 when Gerrie and Christine Maritz heard the voice of the Father calling them to come and live and work amongst the Tshezi people in Coffee Bay situated on the Wildcoast (East Cape).
  • We are based in the poorest part of the Republic of South Africa which is the Eastern Cape.
  • We live and work in the OR Tambo district,  part of the previously known Transkei. The number of people living in poverty is high in this district (64.6%) and the unemployment rate is 65.6%
  • We live in a community with approximately 5000 souls, both here in Coffee Bay and in the surrounding lali's (villages).
  • Water and electricity are not common lifestyle amenities and access roads into these areas are not very good.  Living is very basic for most of our people.
  • YHWH has set before us the Great Commission to reach out to all the poor and needy members of our community, both with His Word and the Hope of tomorrow, and to assist with physical needs.
  • We are diverse in our serving of the community and strive to make a difference in the life of the individual and the family.
We registered a Non-Profit-Organisation in 2005 to enable us to source and channel goods and funding into the Community.  From our passion to help others, a children's Home called CORAM DEO Place Of Care (previously called Khaya Lethu) was born as we soon realised that many children are left to fend for themselves due to the deathtoll of the HIV/Aids pandemic. Children were raising children, they were educationally deprived, physically starving and prematurely dying due to lack of healthcare.
Please visit our home via this website and help us
make a difference in this community!

Numbers 6v24-26

The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you; The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
